However, this must not stop his celebrants from remembering his battles, his legends and his bravery. On normal days, his Jayanti witnesses a special procession and havan puja but owing to the current COVID-19 and lockdown, it is against the social distancing norms to attend/hold any such gathering. However, those who follow the English calendar celebrate Maharana Pratap Jayanti on 9 th of May, every year, as this is originally his birth date. In the name of his legends and battles, his Jayanti is celebrated on the third day of the month of Jyeshta, as per the Hindu calendar. People across the country worship him for his heroism and free-spiritedness, as he was one of the rulers who dedicated his entire life in recapturing Chittor from the Mughals.
The stories of his battles still echo in Maharana Pratap memorial located at the top of Moti Magri or Pearl Hill in Udaipur. He is known as a king who stood his ground against the Mughals. The Rajput king of Mewar, Maharana Pratap Singh, is celebrated across the country for his bravery and strength. Maharana Pratap Singh gained back the territories that he had once lost to the Mughals in the war of Diwar in 1582.
